How to be Saved:

Perhaps the most important thing you need to know is that there is nothing you can do in and of yourself to be saved. If you were to do something, it would be a work of man and not a work of God. It would be you trying to earn your way to heaven and not God saving you from your sins. No, you cannot do anything to be saved. Instead, having come to grips with your sinful nature, having come to terms with the fact that you are a lawbreaker, and with a sense of sorrow, humbleness, and contrition, you must simply believe. Belief is not an act of man, but a gift of God. There is no magic formula or special words I can give you. Instead, think on these things. Cry out to God. Seek His mercy.
